Research is the cornerstone of developing new hydropower and creating solutions to continue to support the world's longest-lived renewable energy source. The Foundation has successfully created research partnerships with 77 students at 26 universities to advance our understanding of critically important issues and create innovative solutions to advance this generation source.
In addition to working with students, The Foundation continues to partner with National Laboratories as well as with collaboratives to research important issues to help all of us gain access to clean more reliable renewable energy. The Foundation is a known leader in supporting collaboratives and coming up with shared solutions, most notably the Alden fish-friendly turbine. Our work is not done yet. The Foundation continues to seek meaningful research and partnerships to keep moving towards environmentally sound plants that are efficient, reliable and underpin the development of other sources of energy like wind and solar.
