APPLICATION INFORMATION

All applications need to be submitted by March 1st, 2013 with Fellowship announcements April 15th, 2013. Applications will be accepted to secureapp@hydrofoundation.org. An application that does not have all of the required supporting documentation will be deemed incomplete and ineligible.
Review of application materials will be rated against this selection criteria. It is recommended that applicants review this criteria prior to submitting their application.
Elements of the application:
In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements, applicants must provide the following information:
- Application Form
- Proposal for Research
- Copy of Transcript(s)
- Copy of GRE scores
- Resume
- Supporting Documents (if applicable)
- Two reference forms (at least one academic)
- Letter of Support from University Department

Please note the following information when submitting your application:
Proposal For Research Your research proposal should not exceed two single-spaced pages. The proposal should be clear to an interdisciplinary selection committee. The proposal should be included in the application packet and not sent separately. The proposal should include the following elements:
- Proposed research and vision of the research scope;
- What research topic(s) this relates to;
- Why the research is relevant to hydropower;
- Methods or approaches to be used;
- A specific work plan with milestones and dates of completion; and
- Why the research and University are a good match for the proposed research.
Transcript:
Please scan and include copies of your transcripts to your application packet when submitting. If you are selected, an official paper copy will be required.
GRE Scores:
Please scan and include in your application packet a copy of the official results from your Graduate Record Exam.
Resume:
Please include a resume to your application packet when submitting.
Supporting Documents: Please include in your application packet supporting documents including any of the following: Masters Thesis, Projects, Abstracts, or Publication Cover Pages.
Reference Forms: Click on reference form in the drop down menu or the link about to access the reference form. Each application is required to have two reference forms provided and at least one from an academic source.
Letter of Support: Each applicant needs to have the department at the University they where they will conduct their research to provide a letter of support. The letter of support should be submitted to the Foundation on the University letterhead with the following information: Name of applicant, statement of support for proposed research, and contact information for the department. Letters can be submitted to secureapp@hydrofoundation.org.
